Doddington Hall is a very fine late Elizabethan Mansion, completed in 1600, lying just to the west of Lincoln off the ringroad. It was built by Robert Smythson, who also designed Longleat, Hardwick Hall and Burton Agnes. The stunning hall and surrounding grounds, both open to visitors, are the perfect setting for a farm shop and cafe.
F C Phipps have a full butchery counter here, wonderfully complimented by the vegetables fresh from the garden and fantastic selection of deli products.
The cafe is more than just a cafe; apart from wonderful cakes, tea and coffee there is a delicious menu for breakfasts, lunches and teas offering the absolute best of seasonal local produce; freshly prepared and delicious! Chef Tom Doran, formerly of well known Nick's Restaurant in Oakham, is establishing a new following in Lincolnshire with his wonderful food.
